ICSI Treatment Process at Benecare Hospital:

    • Consultation – Begin your parenthood journey with an initial consultation at Benecare Hospital, where experienced fertility specialists take the time to understand your medical history and reproductive goals. This consultation includes a detailed review of prior records, recommended diagnostic evaluations and a clear discussion of suitable treatment pathways, enabling informed and confident decision-making from the outset.
    • Retrieval – Sperm collection is carried out to support fertilization and may involve providing a semen sample or in selected cases, a minor surgical retrieval procedure as part of ICSI treatment. Various clinically approved methods such as TESA, PESA,TESE, PESE, MICR-TESE are used to obtain sperm of appropriate quality based on individual requirements.

In certain situations, sperm retrieval may be performed in advance, with the sample preserved through cryopreservation for use at a later stage of treatment.

    • Injection of Sperm into Egg – This stage involves laboratory preparation of the sperm, including careful processing and selection of a single healthy sperm following retrieval. Using a specialized microscopic technique, a fine needle is used to inject the selected sperm directly into the egg.

By assisting fertilization in this manner, the need for sperm movement through cervical fluid is bypassed. Following the procedure, fertilization typically occurs within the next 24 hours, leading to the formation of an embryo.

    • Monitoring the Embryo – The fertilized embryos are kept in a controlled laboratory environment for up to 6 days to monitor for signs of growth and development. High-quality embryos have the best chance of developing into a pregnancy, as not all the fertilized embryos will be transferred to the mother’s uterus.
    • Transfer of Embryos – Embryo transfer involves the careful selection of one or more embryos based on quality and clinical considerations. The procedure is performed using ultrasound guidance, with a fine catheter gently used to place the embryo(s) into the uterus.

This step is typically carried out within two to five days following fertilization, completing a key stage of the treatment process.

    • Pregnancy Test & Follow-Up – A pregnancy test is typically conducted around two weeks after the embryo transfer to assess treatment outcome. If the result is positive, ongoing monitoring and clinical support are provided to ensure the pregnancy is progressing as expected, with continued guidance offered to support both maternal and fetal well-being.
